Skin Health

How your skin changes with age is dependent on many factors which include your heredity, sun exposure, smoking, poor diet and nutrition, alcohol consumption, and stress. Physician directed skin care programs are essential in the restoration and maintenance of healthy and more youthful skin. Cosmetics and over the counter products include a cleanser, a toner, a superficial exfoliant, a moisturizer, and sun protection (SPF 15 or above is recommended). These products can make your skin feel smoother and smell pleasant, but they cannot penetrate the excellent skin barrier to repair or restore your skin. The Obagi NuDerm Program is one medical skin care system that helps you obtain healthy skin while improving fine wrinkles, skin discoloration and acne blemishes. We offer other skin care systems (NIA24 and Vivite’) dependent on each individual patients needs. We also offer microdermabrasion. Dr. Duda can evaluate your skin and design an individualized treatment plan that will give you the most desirable results. Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can be light superficial peels (Biomedic Micro-Peel, Betalift) or deeper peels (Obagi Blue Peel). Dr. Duda will evaluate your skin to determine which is appropriate for you. The Obagi Blue Peel can be used on all skin types and ethnicities, and may also be applied to the face, neck, chest, hands, arms, back and legs.

Injectables

Quick wrinkle treatments, such as Botox, Collagen, Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm, and Radiesse are popular techniques for treating facial lines and wrinkles. These are minimally invasive procedures with short recovery.

Botox is most effective in treating lines caused by muscle contraction. Common areas for treatment are horizontal forehead furrows, vertical lines between the eyebrows, crow’s feet around the eyes, and the vertical neck bands. The lines appear softer in 3-5 days. Treatments are usually repeated 3-4 times a year.

Injectable fillers such as Collagen, Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm, and Radiesse diminish the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles by “plumping up” the soft tissues. Collagen is used to fill fine wrinkles; Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm and Radiesse to enhance volume and contour to the cheeks, lips, the nasolabial folds, and the corners of the mouth.

Skin Laser Technology

The NLite laser is a laser light that helps to reduce facial fine lines by stimulating collagen growth. This is a non-invasive laser treatment that does not require any downtime and is safe for all skin types. It is also effective in controlling active acne.

We also offer IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment for safe and effective treatment of sun damage, pigmented damage, broken capillaries or spider veins, and fine lines. These treatments have no down time.

Laser Hair Removal is available for the face and body. Usually 4-8 treatments are required for full hair reduction.
